The typeface shown is a hand rendering custom font of the word “Worry”. In this project, I was assigned a word and was tasked to express the definition of the word through this design. In this piece I took the definition of worry meaning: give way to anxiety or unease; allow one's mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles. I used design principles to show the feeling of being worried through the use of black and white, the open space in both “O” and “R” are filled in to reflect how one feels anxiety and uneasiness, as if they are spiraling down a black hole or walls are closing in on them. Texture is used throughout the edges of the font too, each stroke is imperfect and different from the next. A crumpled up texture layer is seen throughout the piece to embody how one feels when they are dwelling or overthinking difficulty and troubles.
